Adare Manor

Set within the award-winning Adare Manor estate in Limerick, Ireland, The Carriage House, Tack Bar, and Wine Cellar at Adare Manor combine rich heritage with contemporary luxury. Each area exudes craftsmanship, detail, and a deep connection to the estate’s identity, making it an unparalleled destination for guests.

We have taken the core DNA of a traditional golf clubhouse, then modernised it. In order to keep a connection between The Carriage House and the manor, we’ve used a lot of the details found at the main house and reinterpreted them using different materials.

The new restaurant designed by David Collins Studio will host functions as well as serve lunchtime and evening meals and boasts as decadent an interior as the manor with floor to ceiling hand painted artwork, velvet upholstery and an enormous antique chandelier.

Situated in the award-winning Adare Manor estate in Limerick, Ireland, a five-star hotel and championship golf resort, which will play host to the 2027 Ryder Cup, The Carriage House, Tack Bar, and Wine Cellar epitomise David Collins Studio’s expertise in delivering luxury interior architecture and design that responds to a contemporary resort brief with a specific context and definitive sense of place.

Adare Manor’s Gothic architecture provides an extraordinary backdrop and point of difference to The Carriage House, a stand-alone destination within the estate offering multiple rooms tailored for all-day use.

Guests enter through a grand double-height lobby, featuring a painted panelling mural and intricate arboreal artwork. At the heart of The Carriage House is a rotunda featuring floor-to-ceiling wine displays, leading into a series of distinct areas, that include the bar, the restaurant and private dining room, the terrace, and lounge. The design of The Carriage House is unified by a palette of deep reds, golds and greens, and warm sienna, accented with brass, tonal marbles, and dark-stained oak. Rich materials and meticulous detailing, such as hand-stitched leather upholstery, gilded accents, and fluted glass partitions, create a subtly glamorous and welcoming atmosphere that shifts seamlessly from day to night.

The Tack Bar, located in the Manor’s main building, reflects an equestrian heritage. Set within a space defined by vaulted ceilings and limestone walls, the bar features embossed burnt orange leather and Marmore Verde Lapponia marble in a chic combination of ivory and green. Tonal orange velvet upholstery, bronze lighting with horsehair detailing, and locally woven rugs bring depth and warmth to the space, reinforcing a connection to the estate’s legacy.

The Wine Cellar offers an intimate setting for private tastings and dining, with an 18-metre-long Stoneycombe pink marble table serving as the centrepiece, flanked by custom Adolf Loos-inspired dining chairs. The original brick vaulted ceiling has been restored, while smoked mirror detailing and atmospheric lighting enhance the sense of depth and elegance, creating a dramatic yet understated experience.

Through these spaces, David Collins Studio cleverly proposes a contemporary counter to the storied Gothic manor, balancing rich heritage with modern luxury to craft interiors that feel both timeless and deeply connected to the estate’s identity.
