Fontainebleau Las Vegas
Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a symphony in navy-blue, seamlessly blending mid-century modern design with contemporary elegance. David Collins Studio’s work honours Morris Lapidus’s legacy, using a refined palette of blues and golds to craft an immersive, timeless luxury.
However, the nods to Lapidus, by interiors designer David Collins Studio, are anything but a throwback; rather, they conjure up the feeling you might have had, say, swanning down the famous “staircase to nowhere” in a space that is thoroughly contemporary.

Throughout the colossal hotel, spatial forms, materials and finishes echo the work of Morris Lapidus, architect of the original Miami Beach property. Here, David Collins Studio has created interiors awash in blue and silver seascape tones with dashes of coral pink.

A striking contrast to the arid desert outside, the interior is awash with blue and silver seascape tones with splashes of coral. Accents include mercury-glass mirrors and brass detailing, along with silver veneers and marble surfaces.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas is a landmark of contemporary luxury on the Las Vegas Strip, drawing inspiration from the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach, designed by Morris Lapidus in 1954. A pioneer of “the architecture of joy,” Lapidus’s original vision of glamour and boldness serves as a foundation for this 21st century reinterpretation. As one of the many design partners that brought the Fontainebleau Las Vegas vision to life, David Collins Studio’s designs throughout the hotel celebrate this legacy, incorporating direct references to Lapidus’s wider oeuvre while forging a distinctly modern identity.
The hotel interiors blend mid-century modern influences with contemporary craftsmanship, employing contrasts of light and dark, compression and volume, and hard and soft materials to create spaces that excite and intrigue. The material palette, textures, and forms echo the coastal blues, rippling water patterns, and iconic motifs that defined the original Fontainebleau Miami Beach, ensuring a seamless connection between past and present.
Don’s Prime offers a fresh take on the classic steakhouse, inspired by the patterns and textures of traditional gentlemen’s pocket squares. The space features emerald-green, blue, and red tones alongside bespoke furniture, scalloped-edge Rosso Levanto marble countertops, and geometric marble flooring. Private dining rooms in oxblood, jade, and deep blue hues, accented with textured wallcoverings and gold finishes, create an atmosphere of intimacy and refinement.
Collins, located on the ground floor, is a bar that exudes glamour with teal blue velvet walls and a centrally positioned circular back bar crafted from polished brass and reeded glass. Radiating brass rods on the ceiling create a striking starburst effect, while bespoke navy-blue leather furnishings and Paonazzo marble counters add layers of sophistication.
The VIP Check-In offers an exclusive and intimate guest journey. With navy-blue moiré walls, Calacatta marble desks, ripple-textured glass screens, and Swarovski crystal sconces, the design evokes a sense of bespoke luxury. The adjoining VIP Lounge extends this narrative with high-gloss timber furniture, polished brass accents, and vintage-inspired lighting.
David Collins Studio’s scope at Fontainebleau Las Vegas is broad, encompassing further touches including the monumental domed lobby featuring a series of lit glass torsion-effect columns. Each area is meticulously designed to honour the heritage of Fontainebleau while delivering a fresh, contemporary vision for this iconic brand. From subtle nods to Lapidus’ work to innovative architectural forms, every detail contributes to a cohesive language of luxury and sophistication that defines Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
