David Collins Studio reinterprets classic British design with 18th-century Chinese influences, blending elegance, proportion, and modern living. The home features unique, detailed craftsmanship, from geometric patterns to bespoke elements, all tailored for contemporary life.

A luxury home in Hong Kong’s exclusive Peak neighborhood sold for HK$1.16 billion ($149 million), Wheelock Properties Ltd. said. The four-bedroom, 9,178 square foot (853 square meter) house boasts a swimming pool, elevator, garden and unobstructed views of Hong Kong and Victoria Harbour. The design throughout the three floors in this home encapsulates the elements of the classic English style and incorporates a focus on 18th Century Chinese art and design. This led to a great revival in Britain of the classic home with beautifully proportioned rooms, exquisitely detailed cabinetry and whole new vocabulary of geometric designs inspired from the East.

David Collins Studio has taken this influence and updated it for the 21st century. Adhering to the principles of elegance, beauty and proportion, we have reinterpreted these designs so they are suitable for contemporary living and aspirational buyers. Our classic British home unfolds its design and its eccentricity on close inspection. From the moment you enter the house and see the reinterpreted classical elements, the Chippendale inspired designs, it’s clear this is a classic, but it’s also clear that it’s updated, unique and it’s designed for its place and time.

We have understood how the aspirational client wants to live, to entertain and to socialise in the 21st century home. We understand the importance of light, proportion, space, quality of materials and attention to detail. We have taken the classic elements of the home from the flooring, the skirting, the architraves, doorways, fireplaces and interpreted them in a unique fashion. This is a continuation of the very British tradition of designing unique homes for unique settings which will inspire generations to come.
