Harrods Fine Jewellery

Harrods’ Fine Jewellery Room offers a refined sanctuary of glamour and privacy, where sensational, technically sophisticated lighting illuminates each exquisite piece. A blend of Art Deco-inspired design, bespoke finishes, and discreet spaces ensures a secure and intimate environment, enhancing the experience of the world’s finest jewels.

We have collaborated closely with David Collins Studio on a number of projects at Harrods, including the design of Shoe Heaven in 2014, and are proud to have cultivated a strong relationship with them over the years. They bring a distinctive vision to the table, and are pioneering in terms of their innovative, contemporary approach to luxury design, whilst respecting the environment and heritage behind each project.

We believe that fine jewellery commands a simple but clever backdrop that works seamlessly alongside the precious nature of such benchmark pieces and iconic brands. With this in mind, we focussed, in our concept, on fine detailing, fine tonal colouration and fine materials for their subtle qualities and abilities of enhancing and complimenting.

The new David Collins Studio designed counters have been inspired by the historic images of the Fine Jeweller department from Harrods’s archives, whilst complementing the feminine exterior of the large exterior boutiques, and also allowing for privatised spaces, made necessary due to our Client’s spending habits.

Located on the ground floor of Harrods’ iconic Knightsbridge store, the Fine Jewellery Room is a discreet and luxurious sanctuary of serenity and glamour, meticulously crafted to reflect the rarified jewels that the department showcases. The space reimagines and specifically references original design details from the department store’s historic Gem Room, creating a setting worthy of the world’s most exceptional jewels.

The design embraces a refined palette of patinated champagne tones and polished brass, evoking a timeless elegance. Vintage-inspired glass look-down counters and vitrines are adorned with intricately detailed and textured cast bronze panels and paired with hand-textured finishes that echo the geometric forms of Art Deco jewellery. These details are complemented by bespoke lighting, designed to emulate natural daylight, ensuring that each dazzling jewellery piece is showcased in its brilliance.

Counters are thoughtfully arranged to balance visibility with privacy, featuring screened seating areas that provide an exclusive environment for personal consultations. The space also incorporates private VIP salons, offering an unparalleled level of discretion for Harrods’ clientele.

This new layout seamlessly integrates geometry and transparency, creating distinct zones that cater to eight renowned brands. Each counter is custom-crafted with champagne-coloured gesso and oxidised metal, while interiors are tailored to reflect the unique brand identity of each jeweller. The result is a harmonious yet distinctive setting that enhances the individuality of each collection within an overarching design language.

By merging modern elegance with historic inspiration, the room reaffirms Harrods’ position as the ultimate destination for fine jewellery.
